Only Listed Three Days and Already Sold!
I listed the items in my last post on Saturday, and the micro mitts sold today! One of my friends on Etsy bought them. You may have noticed her around -- SurrenderDorothy. She has all sorts of wonderful ephemera in her shop.
Now I have to get cracking on making some more. I have lots of fabric odds and ends that would be perfect. If I can just find the rest of my Insul-Bright . . . . . . .

Microwaves and Easy Riders
I just finished my newest creation -- microwave oven mitts! They've only been in production for at least 2 years. LOL They're an adaptation of a set we saw in a catalog, but bigger. The catalog set won't hold more than 3 fingers (only good for mugs), but mine fit your whole hand so you can pick up larger dishes. The pockets are different sizes, since your thumb is shorter.

Mentally Hyperventilating and Feeling Old
Well, I think I just mentally hyperventilated myself into thinking I was allergic. The first day I had to take double doses of penicillin, so all reactions were magnified. After two days of taking the standard dose, I'm feeling much better and I think this infection is on its way out of town.
However, I don't think I'll take the original wonder drug again. With severe penicillin allergies in the family, it's probably best to avoid it in future. I have to remember to list it when I go to the endodontist for my root canal.
I was talking to the dentist about how long I'd been going to him. He looked it up --- I've been going to him since he was just starting out and I was just into my teens. He's crowned 2 of my teeth and I've lost count of how many times he's filled my teeth. The first time I went to him I got four fillings and came out looking like a chipmunk!

I went to the dentist, and the verdict is . . . . .
A root canal, another crown, an infection, and possibly another root canal. :o( He prescribed vicodin and double doses of penicillin (which I haven't had in about 20 years) to stomp out the infection fast.
Unfortunately, I've got a sneaky suspicion that I am now allergic to penicillin like two of my siblings. My tongue is tingling, my face is a little swollen, and so is my left hand. I've put a call in, but until I hear from the doc I'm not taking any more.
It's a real bummer because penicillin is a lot cheaper than most antibiotics. And I was looking forward to a painkiller stronger than advil or tylenol, without having to take my migraine pills. :o(
And my face/teeth still hurt.

I hate going to the dentist :o(
I really, truly hate going to the dentist. It's not him in particular, it's my childhood memories of having a tooth filled without novocaine. It's a long story, but suffice it to say I remember screaming.
Unfortunately, I really, really, really need to go to the dentist. The last time I went I had a sore tooth and he couldn't find any problems with that tooth. That will not be the case this time, as I have cracked off several bits of my tooth in the intervening time (length not to be disclosed).
It hurts, I vow to call the dentist, it stops hurting after a few days, and I forget about it for the most part. Then it starts hurting again and the vicious cycle resumes.
For the second time in the last two months I am surviving on advil and tylenol, but there's a limit to what I can take. Last night it hurt so much I had to take one of my migraine pills --- didn't kill it completely, but at least I could sleep after a fashion.
Now it's Friday evening and no chance to call until Monday morning. I hope I make it that far. Right now I wish I could knock the tooth out with a baseball bat. It surely couldn't hurt any worse.
I want some serious painkillers RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you good at naming things?
I want to list some more of my sister's lovely jewelry, but I stink at naming things. And without good names, I'll never be inspired to write the right words to persuade people that a certain piece MUST be theirs!
If you have any skills at naming things, or just want to look at the jewelry, go here

Any and all comments will be greatly appreciated. :o)

Happy Fourth of July!
Once again we celebrate our nation's birth with food, fun, and fireworks. I haven't gone to a fireworks show in years, but I will definitely be enjoying the first two. :o)
In an hour or so we'll be going to the annual bash at our local Knights of Columbus hall. Inside there's a great fried chicken dinner, a cake wheel, a silent auction, and bingo!! I love bingo, but I only get to play it on July 4th. Half the proceeds go to charity, the rest to the players. One year I won $23!
Outside there's a wonderful pool for those who swim, and today it's free! And the cantina is open for refreshments, as well as barbecue available around the pool.
When we get home, we'll watch the National Fourth of July Concert on PBS, and listen to the local fireworks boom. What a great day!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Independence Day!

Missed seeing A Capitol Fourth for the first time in years. We went out for dinner with my brother and forgot all about the concert. :o(
