Almost 3 weeks ago (!) my dad made some french onion soup. He made extra (I don't think it's possible to make only enough for two) and put it in the fridge.
And then he forgot about it.
Tonight we transferred the biohazard formerly known as french onion soup from the fridge to the garbage with the help of a freezer weight zip bag. It was covered in blue-green mold, and we had to cut it out of the dish. Ugh! Luckily tomorrow is garbage day. :o)
The fridge ought to smell a lot better now.

hehe sounds like an experience!
Whee! By the time we find such disasters there is no telling what it orignally might have been. *going to check fridge now*
I *hate* cleaning out the fridge for that very reason. You never know what you will find. I wish I had fridge elves that lived in there and when I opened the fridge they'd say "finish the potato salad!" and "make pasta - you have leftover sauce in here!"
yikes! glad you all survived it!
ewww! that has happened to me before. i seem to always forget what is in my fridge.
that happened to me with potatoes that got put in a forgotten cupboard. Worst. Smell. Ever.
